Basic Vector Illustration with Inkscape: Glassy Icons

This resource is designed as an introduction to vector illustration and covers the fundamental skills used to produce vector graphics: shapes, fills, strokes, gradients, paths, and a few little tricks of the trade.

The tutorial, creating a glassy icon, is intended as a quick-fire introduction that can be used as a standalone skill builder exercise or as part of a larger project. A few examples have been included with the aim to inspire students to experiment and produce their own graphics using the basic techniques.

The resource uses the open source vector illustration tool Inkscape and includes two example files in .svg format.
