Title:
Teaching a student directed, project-based course
Intro:
How can students be given control over and responsibility for their learning and assessment?
Abstract:
Using an existing example under the Technology curriculum we will also look at the tools and systems that can be used to allow teachers to manage and guide students through project work while instructing and assessing flexible, multi-level courses where the students have control.
Outcomes:
- Explore ways to manage student driven courses using a range of tools
- Look at ways assessment can be individualised without losing authenticity
- Identify ways to provide technical instruction to students who are working at different levels and at different speeds
